A variety of lightning styles and colours essential within a music video as it makes it more entertaining and adds greater effect to the music video, it also helps portray certain moods. Lights are extremely important in dance music videos with flashing lights and strobe lights commonly found. The lightning and colour we are going to use is dark background lighting with bright led lights and flashing lights over the top this is commonly found in dance videos and will attract ton our target audience as the look of the video will remind our audience of inside a club. Also we are going to use natural lighting for some shots so we can see our actors but most of the shots will be dark lighting as we are filming at night and in clubs. When we film in the club their is going to be the use of flashing lights and strobe lighting which helps create a euphoric mood for our audience. Our lighting is going to be conventional to a dance video as what we have found in research is their is a common use of flashing and strobe lights which we are going to use. Our target audience can not build a further relationship with our artist but instead will help them feel closer to the narrative as the lighting will give the music video a party feel which the audience can relate to, we are going to use fireworks for lighting this will be bright colours.
The lighting our group are going to use will help make our music video more enjoyable. Lighting is very good to use and lighting will help make our music video successful and will attract more viewers. We have followed the conventional lighting we found in our research; when researching music videos from the dance genre we found that their is bright colours accompanied by flashing lights and LED lights there is low key lighting used throughout these videos swell- this lighting helps create a party feel within the music video. The use of colour also creates happiness, bright colour mirror the bright emotions created by the lively and upbeat music. Colour and lighting accompany the music to help it reach its full potential in satisfying the audience, the intense fast use of lighting and colours mirrors the pace of the music to appeal to the visual senses as well as hearing senses of the audience. This is conventional of a dance music video as the artist is often pictured performing in a stereotypical location of a club or festival, which is where the use of colour and lighting is the most evident. The atmosphere that is pictured in the video is mostly created by the use of lights and colour tints, this also encourages audiences who enjoy this rave location and setting to purchase the artist's tickets to familiarise themselves with the actual location and atmosphere witnessed in the music video.
Overall, the use of colour and lighting benefits the audiences experience as well as the artists representation. By incorporating the conventions of the dance genre in the lighting and colour categories, the audience get to see exactly what they want, this helps create a relationship between the audience and the artist as they believe that they are interested in the similar things, lighting and colour ultimately makes the video as interesting and entertaining as possible throughout the club settings and artist performance.
